Fat and the Moon

Fat and the Moon was founded in 2012 by herbalist Rachel Budde. Rachel started formulating head-to-toe body care products in her Brooklyn kitchen, and the seed of Fat and the Moon was germinated. They have grown to a team of 20 now, all under one roof in Nevada City, CA and they still handmake each of their products. Their vision is to turn regimen into ritual by honoring the time tested ability of plants to heal and restore our bodies. They envision their products as herbal gateways which align our care for ourselves and our care for the earth.

Their potions reflect the world we want to live in, which is why they consciously source local, organic and fairly traded ingredients, perpetually evolve their low waste packaging, handcraft their products to the highest quality standards, and only use inclusive, body affirming messaging. Toxic ‘anti-aging’ language, be gone!

It is Fat and the Moon’s mission to create a thriving culture of Self Care which taps the true source of wellbeing: social and ecosystemic harmony.
